PARTICIPATION IN THE MASHREQ CONFERENCE ON WOMEN’S ECONOMIC
The Mashreq Conference on Women’s Economic Empowerment was held on January 19, 2019, at the Grand Serail in Beirut at the margins of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut.
The conference was held under the Patronage and with the presence of H.E. Saad Hariri, Lebanese Prime Minister with high level representation from the Governments of Jordan and Iraq, as well as heads of international organizations, ministers and members of parliament.
In the conference, Ms. Mayyada Abu-Jaber discussed Leveraging Social Change to Enable Women’s Economic Opportunities. And furthermore, she discussed the role of JoWomenomics influencing mindset change towards women empowerment targeting marginalized communities. Additionally, Ms.Mayyada Abu-Jaber demonstrated the work of World of Letters and their project ‘Women as Partners in Progress” (WPP) to create a nation-wide like-minded people to create change.
